Cafe Valand

The interior all original since the day it opened in Stockholm in 1954. I sat there drinking my coffee in complete awe, feeling quite satisfied with the time warp I was sure I had stumbled upon. I wanted to explode with delight. The combination of silence and magic left a very loud wake of inspiration. Something I have been in desperate need of for some time now.

Birds Abroad

If I am not careful this could turn into a bird blog.

I am in London for the summer. The streets here are overpopulated with people in town for the Olympics. I’ve made an extra effort to find places and museums that are less known therefore less crowded. To escape the manic streets and enter an almost silent room full of 200 yr. old specimens is an amazing relief.

Nest

For a brief time I had these little guys. So small and frail....and hungry. They didn't live long without their mother despite the constant feedings....Its amazing how quickly we can get attached to things.

On a lighter note, MUSHROOMS!

I love when mushrooms spontaneously pop up in random places.

Productivity

I attempted to be more productive than usual this week since I was off of work for the holiday . I feel like it is safe to say that everyone's idea or definition of productivity is different..... At  present my idea of productivity is waking up early to drink "decaf" coffee, visiting gardens with art galleries, going to the flower mart, coming home and arranging the flowers I just purchased and.......well, painting. While painting is usually a staple when categorizing productivity, it never seems to be a priority....I'm trying to change that.

While walking around the gallery, a man working in the museum with the same body structure as Frankenstein's  Monster smiled and winked at me. He had the aura of a gentle giant and what would have normally been creepy and awkward seemed kind and somewhat humorous.  Oh surprises! ha

At the moment there are paintings in progress. They are not quite ready to show there faces yet......all in good time my friends.....
